Good news for Queens-loving preservationists! People for the Pavilion, an organization dedicated to the preservation and reuse of the New York State Pavilion in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, has made an announcement: on April 22, the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the structure, the Pavilion will be opened to the public for the first time in decades. While the hours are narrow, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the window of time will allow patrons in hardhats to get close to the Pavilion for pictures and viewing. One more small triumph for the organization, who has been advocating for the historic and iconic structure's restoration. ['Stoner; previously]
