A former boat-engine repair shop in Red Hook may soon be converted to office space. The building at 160 Van Brunt Street is around 100,000 square feet and could fetch as much as $20 million. It has huge windows and high ceilings, making it " very attractive as an office conversion project," according to Ofer Cohen of TerraCRG, who's handling the sale. But it's worth noting that the building is literally across the street from the Red Hook Container Terminal, which is fine for reenactments of On the Waterfront, but it seems like kind of a lousy place to put an office.
