Coney Update-O-Rama

There's a bit of rumor-mongering going on over at Amusing the Zillion, where Tricia Vita speculates that rides could be set up on lots owned by Thor Equities that have lain vacant since before around 2006. Per AtZ, "Thor Equities' huge vacant lots on Stillwell Avenue in the heart of Coney Island were cleaned up over the weekend and two different sources say rides are coming. The news is unconfirmed and it's hard not to be skeptical considering the history of what's been here since Joe Sitt acquired the land and began evicting longtime ride and park operators in 2006." A roundup of the site's failed attempts to serve as anything useful or fun over the years doesn't give us much hope, but anything's possible. [AtZ]
