This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Lower East Side: The popular Williamsburg haunt Pies 'n' Thighs will be bringing their finger-lickin' fried delicacies to the LES. The new lunch counter will open at 43 Canal Street. Additionally, Max Fish, the LES stronghold priced out of its home of more than two decades, is exploring re-opening at the former Gallery Bar space at 120 Orchard Street.

2) Lower East Side: On that note, the SLA has approved Sweet Chick's liquor license, the new eatery moving into the former Max Fish Space. The fried-chicken restaurant is expanding from their Williamsburg location, despite LES neighbors' blatant opposition to their presence.

3) Midtown West: Eater looks back at 239 West 52nd Street's Roseland Ballroom, the now-shuttered music venue that will be demolished to make room for "a ginormous 59-story apartment tower."

4) Carroll Gardens: Nightingale 9, Smith Street's popular Vietnamese street-food brasserie, celebrated its first birthday this month. Eater talks with the couple who run the joint about how it evolved over its first year, and how the Seersucker proprietors lives have changed.
