When your apartment is in the same building as the "best living room ever" penthouse, it may seem tempting to try and stand out in some way—possibly by, for example, outfitting the foyer with eyeball-searing squiggly wallpaper and pea green paint on the the crown molding and window and door frames, and then having multicolored striped wallpaper in the adjacent three-foot-long hallway, and then painting the living room bright red, pink, and orange. These are all impulses that are probably best avoided. But we'll just have to wait and see whether or not the sale of this large first floor co-op in the Studio Building, listed a week ago for $3.75 million, is effected by the decor.
