Murray Hill Rental Tower Gets New Rendering; New Bike Lane

MURRAY HILL—200 East 39th Street, the 19-story luxury rental tower coming to Murray Hill, has released a new rendering that shows the Rawlings Architects-designed building off from a different angle. Developer CBSK Ironstate, a joint venture of CB Developers, Ironstate Development, and SK Development that is also responsible for Reade Chambers and The Jefferson, expects the project to be completed in January of 2015. They are looking to begin leasing this fall. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

NOHO—Last night, the Community Board 2 transportation subcommittee voted unanimously to endorse the Department of Transportation's plan to upgrade a bike lane on Lafayette Street and Fourth Avenue to a parking-protected lane. The proposal would narrow the car lanes on Fourth, which DOT officials say are too big anyway. According to project manager Preston Johnson, six pedestrians, one cyclist and five motor vehicle occupants were severely injured in crashes on that section of Lafayette Street and Fourth Avenue from 2007-2011.
