"If there's one thing I learned about living in NYC for almost 50 years: nothing is permanent. Not the apt you rent, the deli you go to, the dept store you shop at, the subway line you ride (the Broadway Local used to be the EE, then the RR, now the R) and the neighborhood you've lived in for the past 5 or 10 years most likely looks nothing like it did when you moved in.
