Prolific Brooklyn developer Boaz Gilad just bought the penthouse (and two parking spots) in one of his own buildings, the Karl Fischer-designed VI.V.IX at 659 Bergen Street (cool name, guys), spending $1.25 million in what appears to have been an off-market deal, as the unit never appeared on Streeteasy. The building has already had some problems as contracts began to be signed in 2011 and it took two years to get the Certificate of Occupancy, but it seems as if those troubles are behind it now.
