As previously reported and then immediately recanted, New York's newest Major League Soccer team will play its home games at Yankees Stadium for its first three years. The New York City Football Club, jointly owned by the Yankees and Manchester City of England's Premier League, is still searching for a place to build a permanent home. Last summer, the team was in negotiations for a site near Yankees Stadium, but no progress has been made since then. The original and very controversial proposal to drop a stadium in Flushing Meadows Corona Park died awhile ago. [NYT; previously]
