The preservation battle didn't amount to anything and now that 50 Bowery has been demolished architect Peter Poon's pans for a 22-story hotel have been approved by the Department of Buildings. To be known as the Hotel Bowery (not to be confused — although it will be — with the Bowery Hotel), Poon's building will rise to 227 feet and contain 160 rooms.
