The presidents of one of the losing bidders for the Long Island College Hospital redevelopment is complaining that the winning bidder, Brooklyn Health Partners, cheated by drastically underestimating the cost of building a new hospital. Derek Oubre of Trindade Value Partners, who is actually related to BHP head Merrell Schexnydre, has filed an official protest with SUNY. Originally he and Schexnydre had planned a joint bid, but split, possibly over this very issue. It doesn't look like they're going to be making up any time soon. [Crain's; previously]
