Peek at the High Line's Last Phase as It Nears Completion

New, 3 comments

Due in the fall, High Line Phase III—officially and appropriately known as High Line at the Rail Yards—will be the last of the park's installments. Kind of like a long-running TV show, we'll be both sad and relieved to see it wrap-up, but all the better for it to do so with dignity. The walkway will cut through the heart of Hudson Yards, connected by a circuitous route stretching west at 30th Street down Tenth Avenue and north at Twelfth Avenue.

Field Condition has the scoop on the site's progress,

Much of the paved walking path has been completed, and the installation of wire mesh fencing that separates visitors from the wild plants is well underway. A mock-up is on site for the taller, black metal mesh screen to be installed at the perimeter next to the MTA facilities at the rail yards. And there you have it. Barring the remote possibility of plot twists, it seems the High Line saga draws closer to close. Now all that's needed is the froufrou, feel-good close-out of some landscaping.
