Lost Landmarks, the thesis project of Parsons Design + Technology masters student Matt Felsen, will bring historic views of New York City back to their origins for three days in May. The project will see the on-site installation of Tower Optical Co. classic binoculars updated with digital technologies, through which viewers can see historic photographs of the immediate location of different landmarked sites in the city, says Untapped Cities. The project seeks to remember grand sites past and engender a passion for architectural heritage. The project will be on view on Saturdays, starting tomorrow at 14th Street just west of Sixth Avenue, and run through May 10. Future locations to be announced.
