56 Leonard Is Getting Tall and Starting to Take Shape

When we last checked on 56 Leonard over in Tribeca, the crazy, Jenga-like base was just starting to form. Now, the Herzog & de Meuron tower is moving towards that "less exciting" midsection stage we talked about a few months ago, and is now around 23 floors above street level.

56 Leonard will eventually stand 821 feet and 56 stories above street level, but according to Nikolai over at YIMBY, it's already gracing Tribeca with some nice aesthetic perks; the construction is blocking the "extremely unpleasant" 33 Thomas Street from certain angles. Jeez, catty.
