Triplex Penthouse in 39 Vestry Wants $16.5 Million

New, 9 comments

The current owner of this 5,100-square-foot penthouse in Tribeca's 39 Vestry Street paid $2.3 million for it in 2002, and now stands to make a bundle as the apartment has been put back on the market asking $16.5 million, or a hefty $3,235 per square foot. There's a lot about the apartment that could justify the price, though. From the brokerbabble:

Upon entering [...] one is awestruck by the spectacular north-facing skylight which stretches the full length of the living/dining area and soars from 11 ft to over 22 ft high. This Great Room with beautiful brick walls opens to a private setback terrace and has a wall of custom millwork, open chef's kitchen with floor to ceiling cabinetry, and wood-burning fireplace. Other highlights include the six bedrooms, home gym, media room, and private terrace, which the listing claims "can comfortably accommodate a seated dinner for 50-70 guests," if that sounds like a fun thing to do with your time. There's also the fact that the co-creator of How I Met Your Mother lives in the building, so if you have any ideas to pitch him for the spin-off, now's your chance.
