The Observer dug up data showing that during the first quarter of the year, Gracie Mansion was the site of just 13 events, compared with the 32 that went down during the first three months of 2013. Replied a BDB spokeswoman: "You shouldn't compare the last year of a 12-year administration to the first year of a new administration—there were a lot of goodbyes!" However, the number of visitors to the "little White House" for the same time period totaled 4,600, up from 3,900 last year, in part because of a successful open house in January.
