The real estate industry continues to battle the crane operators' union over the Bloomberg administration's plan to change the licensing rules for the operators, and now a new bill from Manhattan Councilman Benjamin Kallos seeks to block the new policy. Kallos claims that his bill would result in safer crane operation in the city, saying, "If a crane falls somewhere in Idaho on a bunch of potatoes, a bunch of lives aren't going to be lost." Ha.
