Google's autocomplete function can serve as a poll of the masses, and that's what the Daily News did to to figure out what search engine-using people think about each borough. The results aren't that surprising: Why is Manhattan so... "expensive," "populated," "dirty," and "dense"? Why is Brooklyn so "cool"? Why is Queens "so diverse"? Why is the Bronx so "poor"? (Yikes, Borough President Ruben Diaz was not happy about that one.) Why is Staten Island so "trashy"? Conclusion: Google users embrace stereotypes and generalizations, and they can be pretty mean. Fiddle around with the News' interactive tool for more results. [NYDN]
