A Dutch South African Cutie; Miami's Biggest Megaproject

New, 2 comments

Here's the latest from Curbed Miami, our outpost in the Sixth Borough...

1) Coral Gables: A rare house in one of Coral Gables' original theme villages (the Dutch South African village to be exact) has hit the market. It may not have the high ceilings, excessive square footage, or numerous bathrooms of newer houses, but boy is it cute.

2) Brickell: A new website with lots of fresh renderings of Miami's biggest new megaproject, Brickell City Centre, has gone live. Do check out this place's 'climate ribbon' ceilings, and mall connected with sky bridges.

3) Palm Beach: Now on the market in Palm Beach is the classy home of Palm Beach Regency architect Clarence Mack for $12.3 million. The house, like the architectural style that Mack helped to create, is a neoclassical abode with a touch of midcentury flair.

4) Coconut Grove: One of Miami's great architectural treasures is the gilded age estate known as Vizcaya. The main house and gardens are sublime, but this week Curbed took a look at some lesser known areas, including Vizcaya's farm village, architectural details of the farm village, and the east and west gate lodges.
