Resurrected Bushwick Rental Will Finally Start Leasing Soon

New, 5 comments

The space age-sounding Colony 1209 on DeKalb Avenue in Bushwick was supposed to start leasing out its 127 units back in October. Yeah, so that didn't happen. Here's what transpired: owners Read Property Group decided to sell the move-in ready building instead of manage any pesky tenants, and Crain's reports the sale just went through last week. The buyer, whose identity wasn't revealed, paid $58 million for the glassy structure—an extremely large amount given the area. Now that a new landlord is in place, leasing can begin, and is expected to launch officially later this month. But voila, in addition to the building website, 10 listings are live on StreetEasy and 12 on aptsandlofts.com. They range from a studio for $1,800/month to a 2BR/1BA with outdoor space for $3,000/month. One-bedrooms range from $1,985 to $2,769.

Amenities include a library, screening room, game room with pool and ping pong tables , and, per the marketing babble, "the authentic Speakeasy where you can rehearse music or play pinball. Nice night? Unwind in the lush courtyard or on the communal roof deck, outfitted with dozens of lounging areas, grills, and outdoor showers." No pictures of the roof deck yet, alas.
