Coney Island's razed community garden and the Lower East Side's Children's Magical Garden have a new successor in the not-fun race to be the Latest Green Thumb To Be Threatened With Demolition In The Name Of Development. Now neighbors and advocates who have worked to cultivate Roger That Garden, a plot at Rogers Avenue and Park Place, since 2006 are trying to raise $80,000 to the buy out the realty company that bought the lot's tax lien in December. TYC Realty hasn't yet responded to their initial offer, which is unfortunately a bit thin since they haven't yet gathered the money to back it up. [Brooklyn Paper; photo via Roger That's Tumblr]
