New York mag's Justin Davidson has some strong words about the two 14-story towers, developed by the Brodsky Organization, that will abut one of the city's most beautiful churches... and they are far from supportive. The title of his post is telling: "The Giant New Building That Is About to Overshadow the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine—And How the City Ought to Step In." He fears that without intervention from Mayor de Blasio, "the 428 apartments, designed by Handel Architects, will make a giant landmark fade into the Amsterdam Avenue streetscape," and includes some tips for how to keep that from happening.
