Archaeologists have uncovered a centuries-old party-under-the-earth on the construction site of a 22-story glass tower at 50 Bowery. Hundreds of in-tact 19th-century liquor bottles, plates, and mugs were unearthed on the former site of Atlantic Garden, a German beer garden that opened around 1860. Equally impressive, archaeologists also uncovered a portion of stone wall that lead to the Colonial-era Bull's Head Tavern, a one-time haunt of George Washington and his troops. [DNAinfo]
