Gentrification Wars

New, 9 comments

Manhattan mansion dweller and self-appointed Brooklyn gentrification pundit Spike Lee has gotten himself into yet another expletive-laced argument. This time it's with actor and Knicks documentary-maker Michael Rapaport, who said "what's happened to Brooklyn is great." Lee, cursing, fired back that he's forgetting folks who've been priced out. He also defended his own position: "So should Jay Z stop rapping about Brooklyn? When was the last time Jay Z lived in the Washington Projects? ... That is so ignorant that because I live on the Upper East Side—that's fucking bullshit." Well then. [Daily Intel; previously]
