Long Island College Hospital is basically on life support at this point. A judge said that competing bidders have one more day to figure out a way to provide health care at the beleaguered facility—which keeps taking baby steps towards financially sustainable redevelopment before hitting roadblock after roadblock—or else the place will get shuttered on Thursday. The same judge also delayed a hearing that would have brought the bidding process, which has already been played out multiple times, back to the beginning, as negotiations proceed between hospital owner SUNY, the bidders, and community groups and their attorney.
