The week's earlier sale of a $13 million 15 Central Park West pad pales in comparison to a new sale in the Limestone Jesus that hit public record yesterday. An anonymous LLC represented by a Chicago law firm made the $48 million acquisition of an 18th and 19th floor duplex, marking the second most expensive sale in the building trailing only former Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill's $88 million sale of his bonkers pad. The newly sold duplex, which closed for substantially less than its initial ask of $62.5 million, faces Central Park and has four-bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The Real Deal notes that seller the Ullman Family Partnership bought the apartment for $23.9 million in March 2008. Even with the $15 million discount the new owner scored the pad at, a $25.1 million profit for living in the clouds over Central Park for six years isn't shabby.
