HAP's New Chelsea Condo Building Looks Relatively Restrained

New, 8 comments

HAP Investments seems to have a penchant for attention-grabbing buildings, and this predilection combined with the services of notorious designer Karim Rashid has produced some truly mind-boggling renderings. So, in comparison, their new building at 215-219 West 28th Street is going to look fairly subdued, even though it's still got a very design-y look, as renderings posted on the developer's website display. The architect is WASA/Studio A and the building will rise to 21 floors with 117 apartments and one commercial floor.

And, in related news, another of HAP's medium-crazy buildings, an eight-story, 38-unit condo development in Washington Heights just launched sales with studios starting at $499,000. While glassy and asymmetrical, it still has nothing on the Karim Rashid storage bin tower.
