One-Bedroom on Secret Upper West Side Street Asks $875,000

New, 11 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

Pomander Walk is a secret, gated street on the Upper West Side, and, like Narnia, only children and grownups who still believe in magic are able to find it. As such, listings tend to be pretty rare, but last week, one of those fabled apartments hit the market. The one-bedroom (well, it looks like a renovated studio . . .) overlooks the mews-like walk, and features raised ceilings, an open skylit kitchen, and built-in closetspace, but the location and charm is what you're really paying for here. At $875,000, it's quite a bit more expensive than previous listings of the same size, but can you really put a price on once again seeing the world through the eyes of a child, all full of wonder and imagination? Seriously, can you? Let us know in the comments.
