As expected, the Quinlan Development Group has filed permits for its new tower at 153 Remsen Street that will replace a two-story (debatable) eyesore of a building. But whether or not it's actually an eyesore or just a normal boring building, the current 153 Remsen is not long for this world, as the permits, spotted by NY YIMBY, confirm. The new structure will have Perkins Eastman as the architect of record and will, as previously reported, rise to 185 feet. There will be 19 stories (not 18) and will contain a total of 79,700 square feet — 4,576 of ground-floor retail and the rest split up between 60 residential units. Demolition permits for the eyesore building have already been filed.
