The tale of what happened to Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz's Spring Street townhouse after it was bought and demolished just gets more and more convoluted. Canadian developer Stephane Boivin bought 186 Spring Street in 2012 for $5.5 million, claiming it was for personal use when really he wanted to build condos on the lot and the one next door at No. 182, and then the feces really hit the fan with lots of legal issues, and he put the whole thing back on the market for $38M. The latest is that Waterbridge Capital is in contract to buy the corner parcel, and construction signage reveals the developer is looking for a retail tenant. Sorry, no condo for you.
