New, 1 comment

UNION SQUARE—A water tower on top of 127 Fourth Avenue at Thirteenth Street has a new, adorable look courtesy of international street artist Stik. The water tower joins the building's new permanent clock, which Halstead's Andrew Fine noted as part of Mirador Properties' rebranding of Pan Am Equities' 4,000-apartment portfolio; 127 Fourth Avenue included. FORT TILDEN/ROCKAWAY—To celebrate the post-Sandy reopening of Fort Tilden and ongoing recovery of Rockaway, the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy will sponsor Rockaway!, a summer-long free public arts festival held throughout the area from June 29 to September 1. The exhibition will feature work from Rockaway resident and co-organizer Patti Smith, who created a large-scale installation, photography exhibition, and site-specific outdoor installation called The Resilience of the Dreamer for the exhibition. The show will also feature work from Argentinian sculptor Adrián Villar Rojas, and Janet Cardiff's The Forty Piece Motet, amongst other contributions. [CurbedWire inbox; official]
