The Board of Standards and Appeals decided today to grant New York Methodist Hospital the variances it needs for its big expansion in Park Slope, and, predictably, the neighbors are none too pleased. A statement from Preserve Park Slope reads, in part: "We are disappointed with today's decision ... Numerous studies have demonstrated that a larger facility in Park Slope will not effectively serve communities that are in danger of losing access to healthcare throughout Brooklyn."
