The Salvation Army is planning to sell its Williams Memorial Residence on the Upper West Side for $108 million and use the money to build a new senior housing facility along with a community center on East 125th Street. The seniors currently housed in the old center would be guaranteed a spot in the new one, although, predictably, many of the elderly residents are not thrilled about the idea of moving to East Harlem.
