Herzog and de Meuron's tower o' cantilevered condos is moving along, with first glass curtain walls going in as the boxes climb upward. Field Condition glimpsed the progress on the site, developed by Alexico Group and Hines, relaying that the glass panels are "very reflective". The Jenga-like tower has reached half of its superlative height of 60 floors, and is expected in 2015.
The starchitect duo also have their hands in the construction of Ian Schrager's hotly debated Lower East Side Public hotel. But alas, the design is not nearly as adventurous as 56 Leonard. More shots and technical jargon can be found over at Field Condition.
