An bus depot on 126th Street in East Harlem will be replaced with a slave memorial, and, of course, probably apartments. Seven years ago, workers discovered a slave burial ground at the site, which is now up for redevelopment. The history will be memorialized, and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito said if residential use is permitted, "it has to be done in a respectful way." [NYP]
