EVERYWHERE—A new study conducted by roommate site SpareRoom.com revealed that, out of 1,000 renters surveyed, 85 percent were "rent-burdened" and 61 percent were "severely rent-burdened," according to standards outlined in Mayor de Blasio's affordable housing plan (PDF). When asked the question, "After tax and deductions how much of your take home pay goes on your rent?" 27 percent of respondents answered, "More than two thirds," while 34 percent answered, "Half to two thirds." Only 15 percent spent less than a third. [CurbedWire Inbox]
