Detective Anthony "Tony Bees" Planakis, the closest thing this city has to a hero, removed a swarm of 6,000 to 8,000 bees from a Downtown Brooklyn scaffolding on Monday. He described them as "Italian honey bees" that were "relatively docile." They will be relocated to an apiary in upstate New York, while Tony Bees will retreat to his bee cave, waiting for the bee signal to appear above the city once again. [DNAinfo; previously]
