Bond Street Outcast Might See Luxury Residential Conversion

New, 2 comments

Bond Street spectators, brace: another high-end residential building may be coming to the architectural corridor. Well, to be fair, the building itself already exists, but is in no state to hold court with the tony big kids on the block. Permits have been filed to convert 31 Bond Street, neighbor to BKSK's lauded 25 Bond, into a seven-story luxury building with three condos. Buzz Buzz Home says the renovation is expected to cost a mere $4.125 million, despite architect Matthew Baird Architects' plans to add an additional floor to the six-story building (That figure may not hold water). When complete, the building will host two triplexes and one duplex condo.

The 1880's loft building that's housed everything from a recording studio to classrooms was picked up by Good Property Co. in late 2013 for $16 million. Ah, another building to accept the corridor's gold standard challenge. Image via Buzz Buzz Home.
