The Rebuild by Design competition has announced how it will distribute the nearly $1 billion that it has been allotted to better prepare New York and New Jersey for the next major weather event. Big portions are going to Danish firm BIG, who will get $355 million to construct landscaped mounds surrounding Lower Manhattan, and Dutch firm OMA, who will get $230 million to stormproof Hoboken.
