Big Reveal: $849,000 for a Two-Bed Co-op in Carroll Gardens

New, 7 comments

The commenters were, as a whole, not entirely thrilled with yesterday's Pricespotter, a fourth-floor walkup in Carroll Gardens with a bevy of prewar details. The one who came the closest, though (not counting the first commenter, who clearly cheated) was Die Fledermaus, who guessed $825,000, only $24K off the actual asking price of $849,000. He or she wrote, "That living room is depressing; come on over and we will sit on my cheap grey couch WAY too close to the fireplace and watch crap burn. Don't wear flammable shoes." Congratulations to that happy camper.

Also deserving of an honorable mention is our second place finisher portnoys complaint, who guessed $875,000 and was a lot more positive about it, writing, "Mahogany window frames, pressed-tin ceilings, and a claw-foot tub. Lots of light and a decent floor plan with a functional if uninspiring second bedroom. In Park Slope, this place might ask $1,050K. A less desirable neighborhood and three flights of stairs should bring this down to $875K."
