Delayed Renwick St. Site Gets 30 Condos With Kaufman Views

New, 1 comment

Oh, what a decade it's been for 15 Renwick Street, the stalled, foreclosed-upon, sold, and reimagined Hudson Square lot. It's taken seven years for the site's drama to run its course, but hopefully new developers Izaki Group Investments are in it for the long-haul. Originally the site of a proposed (and celebrated) Ismael Leyva 13-story tower to be developed by Harry Jeremias and Glacier Global Partners, the site finally seems to be making progress as an ODA Architects-designed condo building. Permits spotted by YIMBY indicate that the 11-story, 30-condo building will have an average dwelling size of 2,000-square-feet.

UPDATE: Reps for the development reached out to say that these are outdated renderings, and these are not representative of the final design for 15 Renwick. The building's design and official renderings are still being worked out.

The little street near the Holland Tunnel entrance has seen a lot of action of late, including a Gene Kaufman hotel rising at 2 Renwick Street. 15 Renwick Street, which is "just climbing above street level" says YIMBY, will—if all goes according to plan—be complete in 2015.
