Bernie Madoff's Old Penthouse Will Have New Owners to Curse

New, 1 comment

The Daily News is reporting that Penthouse A in 133 East 64th Street, the former home of infamous Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, has finally sold gone into contract for "close to $15 million." The sellers, toy mogul Alfred Kahn and his wife Patsy, bought the apartment in 2010 for $8 million, shortly after it suffered a "mysterious fire," and put it back on the market in August of 2013 asking $17.25 million. It took multiple pricechops and almost an entire year for the place to sell go into contract, during which time the Kahns separated (Patsy now lives in a $4 million apartment on Park Avenue, the Daily News says). As the sale has yet to close, we don't know who the apartment will be putting its curse on next.
