Andrew Berman and the good folks at GVSHP have been trying to get the owner of 43 Macdougal Street to fix up the joint for a very long time, and now, it looks like they've finally succeeded. For years, a prior owner refused to make the necessary repairs to the historic (and haunted!) 1846 house in the Charlton-King-Vandam Historic District. GVSHP pushed various city agencies to pursue legal action, causing the neglectful owner to sell the house. The new owner has put forward a comprehensive plan to renovate and restore 43 Macdougal Street, and is supported by GVSHP and recently approved by the city. [Curbed inbox/GVSHP; previously]
