Plans for Rockrose's development at 43-25 Hunter Street in Court Square have hit a serious snag. Once heralded as the tallest residential building in Queens (and "Citigroup's girlfriend"), the Department of Buildings has rejected the plans twice in the last month.
Construction on the 50-story, 975-unit building was slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013, but now, six months in to 2014, there has been "zero activity on the lot." If the site is ever developed, the building will rise 500 feet, but it will likely be surpassed in height by 42-12 28th Street, which recently began construction.
