A very un-Novogratzy Novogratz-designed townhouse is for sale (again) at 1 Centre Market Place in Little Italy. The interiors of the four-story townhouse are a far cry from the splashy, modern looks Novogratz fans have come to expecteven the home's finishes err to the traditional side. Too bad the seller, disgraced health care executive Christopher Luis, couldn't bring the Novogratz's back to stage the listing pictures for him this umpteenth go-around on the market; the sale is, alas, through bankruptcy. The home has been on and off the market since 2012, with an ask that's slid from $7.995 million to $4.795 million. Earlier listing pictures for the property show a far more pulled-together (yet still un-Novogratzy) home. It looks like things are getting, at the least, a bit desperate.
Even Million Dollar Listing broker Ryan Serhant couldn't sell the shrug-worthy digs. The design duo, who snapped up several other Centre Market Place townhouses for renovation, clearly put the least amount of effort into refining the townhouse at 1. The neighboring 5 Centre Market Place, which is in the midsts of being offloaded by investor George Soros' son Gregory Soros, has the couple's signature basement basketball court. Not so for 1 Centre Market Place. Here are some shots of the home from before its pitiful descent to City's Saddest Townhouse.
