As part of Outdoors Week 2014, we're searching for New York City's best dog park. Nominate your dog park or run by writing us a short description of what makes it great and telling us why your dog loves it; send photos to tips@curbed.com and your adorable pup may be featured on the site. We'll be sharing two parks (and lots of photos!) per day, and voting begins Friday.
The 13-year-old Jemmy's Run on the west side of Madison Square Park is lined with trees and, given that it's in the middle of Manhattan, provides a lot of space for dogs run around. There's a dedicated small dog run, plenty of benchesmany with umbrellas for extra shadeand a gravel ground covering. The park provides poop bags and several scoopers, and Yelpers say there's always a good crowd of dogs. Plus, the dog-friendly Shake Shack is nearby in case your pooch wants a treat.
