Its days as the sad, foreclosed Flatotel are long behind it: 135 West 52nd Street, the Joseph Chetrit and David Bistricer residential conversion between Seventh Avenue and Avenue of the Americas, has unrolled its full website, signaling an imminent sales launch. The full site unveiling comes with its perks: first (virtual) looks inside the building after its $250 million renovation. The tower will be home to 104 one- to four-bedroom apartments, four penthouse duplexes, and one triplex. CetraRuddy handled the 47-story building's interiors. The building gained some notoriety when it tactfully tapped French lighting guru Thierry Dreyfus to construct a "prominent and permanent" installation up the center of the 423-foot tower's exterior.
According to a former Times article, the building's sales office will feature purple mohair walls and a VIP room for prospective penthouse buyersultra-opulence, perhaps, for if the Dreyfus fails to impress.
