As part of Outdoors Week 2014, we're searching for New York City's best dog park. Nominate your dog park or run by writing us a short description of what makes it great and telling us why your dog loves it; send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and your adorable pup may be featured on the site. We'll be sharing two parks (and lots of photos!) per day, and voting begins Friday.
The last contender in the battle for NYC's best dog park goes to one of the city's newest pooch parks: the dog run in Hunter's Point South Park. It's located just beside LIC Landing and has spectacular views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. It stands out from other parks in the area thanks to its modern design, concrete floors, and chrome benches, water bowls, and fountains. There are also a stack of wooden logs and a huge dome in the middle for the dogs to climb up and explore. If there's a downside, it's there isn't much shade, but as the trees grow, that will change.
