City Realty's blog 6sqft spotted new renderings for the West Side's massive Riverside Center project. They were on the website of Extell's One Riverside Park, which is an under-construction luxury tower at the southernmost end of the string of Hudson River-facing limestone-and-glass residential towers. It's just north of the planned Riverside Center. The renderings of the complex, which is also being developed by the Dermot Company and will include "five residential buildings with an estimated 2,500 apartments, 3 acres of open space, and a pre-K through eighth-grade school," beg the following question: Is Christian de Portzamparc still the architect? The visuals look similar to the more basic ones the Pritzker Prize winner had on his website as of April. But maybe another firm has taken over and maintained the glassy, angular aesthetic. If anyone has intel, please hit up the tipline. When all's said and done, the project will take up eight acres along the river between 59th and 61st streets.
