WEST FARMSThe 100-year-old Bronx River Art Center building at 1087 East Tremont Avenue is officially undergoing a massive renovation, kicked-off by a June 26th groundbreaking ceremony. The renovation will bring classrooms, studio spaces, a state of the art computer lab and a ground floor art gallery to the 18,000-square-foot building. The design by Sage and Coombe Architects and Tatfoo Tan studios is partly funded via a $10 million grant from the city. The project is expected to be complete in 2016. [CurbedWire inbox; official]
